A community with a proud history, Memorial Christian Church in Ephrata, WA, is a member of the Disciples Of Christ denomination and was organized in September 1946 following the conclusion of World War II. The building itself began as a military chapel during wartime, grew steadily following the war's conclusion, and was purchased from the government in the Spring of 1947. Transporting the chapel from the Army Air Base near Ephrata was undertaken by members and community volunteers. It was set upon a foundation at the top of the hill on Division Street and remains there today. In 1947 the "neighborhood" around this location was primarily sagebrush, leaving the building highly visible from the downtown area. Members believed the location could be likened to the biblical reference from Matthew 5:14-15 which states, "You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid." In the years since, the church has ministered to countless numbers of people from this site. This friendly and welcoming congregation gives grateful thanks to God for the nearly 70 years of its ministry and prays for continued guidance and growth in the years ahead.

Earth Day 2019 Faith reflection
HOLY WEEK - the highlight of the Church Year includes Palm Sunday (last Sunday), Maundy Thursday service, Good Friday service, and Easter Sunday Worship. Please see the Grant County Journal "church page" for times and locations. We are pleased to share in these activities with our friends in other congregations.
In the wake of today’s tragic fire that destroyed the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, Memorial Christian Church mourns with the people of Paris and around the world. This is a loss of a beautiful expression of faith, beauty, and history.
Brand new sidewalk -- We should have a roller-skating party on the smooth surface! Contractor Cliff Harden wanted to get it done in time for Palm Sunday service. . . I think he was successful. Thanks to all the hard workers from tearing out the old and pouring the new.
TAI CHI @ MCC Every 2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 1:00 - 2:30 pm. (Please note: Due to the new sidewalk project, this Tuesday's Tai Chi is cancelled. Next class will be on Tuesday, April 23rd.) P.S. The pictures below are not of our group! 😊
One full week ago our church Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary were filled with 50+ people for the Ecumenical Lenten Soup Supper and Service. It was a lovely evening of sharing food and praise. TONIGHT we all meet again at Our Redeemer's Presbyterian Church for a Potato Bar meal at 5:30 pm followed by Lenten Worship.
We celebrated ASH WEDNESDAY (on a cold and snowy night) with a small, but very congenial group! The service was led by Pastor Don Dunn and Rev. Dolores Ford ending with the placing of ashes on the foreheads, reminding us of our mortality, our desire to be in close relationship with Christ, and our need to be of service to others. And so, we begin the Season of Lent.
TAI CHI at MCC yesterday. Great group of participants (unnamed to protect their identity!), great video instructor, Dr. Paul Lam, and a fun time! Instruction includes both Standing and Meditative Sitting Tai Chi. ALL are invited to join us on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 1:00 pm in the church Fellowship Hall.
